How to read your battery code
A JIS code such as 55B24LS breaks down as: 55 the performance index (roughly the capacity class — the true rating here is about 45 Ah), B the case class which fixes width and height, 24 the length in centimetres, L the terminal side (positive on the left, viewed from the terminal face), and S for slim posts. European cars instead use DIN/EN codes such as DIN55, where the number is the capacity in amp-hours, or AGM case codes such as H7-AGM for stop-start cars.
